Event Description

As CEO and Founder of ICE, DeLinda has thrived in the contract furniture industry for 30 plus years. By far the most rewarding portion of those years has been since opening ICE in 2006 with the goal of providing a distinctive experience for employees as well as customers.  ICE added residential, hospitality, and custom capabilities in 2013. This influenced growth with the ability to furnish restaurants, hotels, night clubs but also has led to ICE’s reputation as San Diego’s ‘most creative office furniture dealership’.

ICE has been an Inc. 5000 winner 7 times; only (4) San Diego companies have ever achieved this recognition by Inc. and only 1.5% of all US firms. In an industry that experiences single-digit growth, ICE’s average annual growth since 2013 has been 32%. In analyzing the cause for this phenomenon, DeLinda is now writing a book exploring the financial, societal, and personal emotional benefits of managing and working for a conscious business enterprise with a focus on the Millennial generation. Ms. Forsythe’s book, Inspiring Generational Leadership, launching early 2021, offers a thoughtful focus on ethical entrepreneurship, the practical integration of the concepts of ‘conscious capitalism’ and the gift of mentorship for sustainable generational impact. Her book suggests a methodology that can future proof small business and ensures personal legacy via mentoring and corporate culture development. She will cover what conscious capitalism is and how San Diego businesses are promoting and engaging in these principles.

Ms. Forsythe has a goal of working with local San Diego organizations, companies, and leaders to promote this vision of San Diego being considered the city with the most conscious business enterprises in America. Data confirms that organizations that incorporate the tenets of conscious capitalism are more financially profitable, stable, and resilient during economic downturns. The results of San Diego having the most conscious business enterprises is that our business community will be able to attract and retain the best talent and bake in long-term fiscal stability.

DeLinda believes in giving back to the San Diego community by serving in multiple capacities:
